My 3rd home made contrabass part2

[en] A fingerboard made with polyester resin and sisal fiber. It is difficult to find an ebony of this size and I’m thinking to make fingerboard for 5 or 6 strings contrabass after. Resin has a of a lot of flexibility of molding, this is the reason why i chose using it.

[en] I mixed sisal fiber because I thought it will be better to add vegetable fiber for the sound character. But it was difficult to find the fiber itself, so sisal ropes were broken up by hand for returning to the fiber. Fill the mold with the fiber.

[en] Removed from mold. Polyester is usually explained it will be harden in a few hours, but it shrinks and changes hardness, so it would be better waiting a few days to harden completely.

[en] I covered the bottom with soft vinyl because I thought it can make easy to remove. but it deformed and made messy. It was better to use a release agent …
